Two days after securing a commitment from Salem (Virginia Beach, VA) star Bucky Hodges, Virginia Tech landed another quarterback commitment in the class of 2013.  Statesville (N.C.) signal caller Carlis Parker made the call for the maroon and orange today, choosing Virginia Tech over offers from Duke, East Carolina, North Carolina, N.C. State, South Carolina and Wake Forest.

Parker was offered by the Hokies before the start of his junior year, so certainly he was high on coach Frank Beamer’s list of 2013 quarterback targets.

“It feels really good,” said Parker, who delivered the news to head coach Frank Beamer, quarterbacks coach Mike O’Cain and wide receivers coach Kevin Sherman earlier today.  “I feel like I really made the right decision.”

Parker’s interest in Virginia Tech was really sparked last summer.
