Versatile Hall Led CHC To State Title

Smooth point guard Devon Hall was rock-solid for Cape Henry Collegiate (Virginia Beach, VA) this season, averaging 16 points, 7 assists and 7 boards per game while helping the Dolphins capture the 2012 Virginia Independent Schools Division II state championship.  The 6’5″, 200-pound sophomore, recognized as a 4-star recruit by Rivals.com and Scout.com, boasts five scholarship offers and could be on the verge of landing more.

“Florida State loves him.  Georgetown loves him.  He is getting interest from North Carolina.  ACC and SEC schools like him.  Villanova, [assistant coach Jason] Donnelly is showing a lot of interest,” said Devon’s father, Mark Hall Sr., who just finished his first season as Cape Henry Collegiate head boys varsity basketball coach.  Coach Hall confirms that his son already has been offered by Georgia, Miami, Virginia, Virginia Tech and Winthrop.

Devon capped off an outstanding season by earning VIS state tournament MVP honors.  He scored 15 points and dished out six assists in the championship game, a 57-47 victory over Virginia Episcopal School.

“Devon is the extension of a head coach,” Coach Hall said.  “His basketball IQ is through the roof.  He understands tempo, what’s needed, and those are probably his best attributes besides shooting.”
