In-State Race For LCA Tackle

Liberty Christian Academy (Lynchburg, VA) offensive lineman Braxton Pfaff boasts offers from Liberty University, the University of Virginia, and Virginia Tech.  Those three offers are all the 6’5″, 285-pound junior wants or needs, as he isn’t looking to stray far away from home for his college future.

“He has made no bones about it.  He wants to stay close to home,” LCA head coach Frank Rocco said.  “He is close to his family.  Both parents have gone to Liberty University.  His grandmother worked as a professor at Liberty University.  Certainly with UVa and my son Mike being there, there is a familiarity there that I think is important to him.  He knows Mike a little bit.  The fact that it’s an hour away doesn’t hurt.  Then with Tech, really as a young kid he grew up a Tech fan.”

Pfaff attended Virginia Tech’s junior day on February 18, and he was in Charlottesville on February 25 for Virginia’s junior day event.

“He clearly likes both of ’em,” Rocco said, referring to Tech and UVa.  “Again, he’s trying to keep this a tight process, which is good.  He really has it narrowed down to exactly what it is he wants.  He has secured offers from those schools he is most interested in.  Now it’s a matter of digging into it more.  When he has a good sense of what he wants to do, he probably will go ahead and make a commitment.”
