Virginia Tech signed a huge class in 2012.  Don’t expect big numbers in 2013.  The Hokies will focus on quality and positions of need, specifically quarterback and offensive line.

2013 Season Roster Breakdown

The total number of players projected on scholarship in the 2013 season now stands at 80.  Only 85 players are allowed on scholarship in a given season, meaning that if this number held, Virginia Tech would only be able to enroll five new players in the 2013 class.  That won’t be the case, but with such a low number of scholarships available to start, the 2013 class figures to be a small one for the Hokies.

To start off we’ll project the overall number of 2013 recruits signed to be 13-15.  This does not count gray-shirts that may sign in February but do not plan to enroll until the following January (in this case, they would enroll in January of 2014).
