Notes: Change In Plans For Greene

Wilson (Portsmouth, VA) senior Der’Woun Greene had planned on enrolling at Virginia Tech next month. The 5’10”, 180-pound athlete won’t see those plans come to fruition, though he still plans on donning the orange and maroon as early as this coming spring.

Greene won’t be able to graduate from Wilson until late January, therefore missing the start to Virginia Tech’s spring semester. He now will enroll as soon as he can, which likely will be the first summer session beginning May 21. Greene expects to know for certain what he can do next month.

A fan of Virginia Tech since Michael Vick carved up defenses for the Hokies, Greene is disappointed he won’t be able to enroll in January but remains excited about his future.

“It’s like a dream come true,” Greene said of being a part of the Virginia Tech football program. “It’s like a dream come true, playing for a top notch team that goes to a bowl game every year. To be able to say I’m part of that is something special. I’m going to go hard no matter what position I play.”
