Since the end of his senior season, Downingtown East (Exton, PA) senior Jack Willenbrock has had the opportunity to make an official visit to his future school, Virginia Tech, and is now gearing up to play against some of his future teammates in the Chesapeake Bowl. The 6’4″, 260-pound offensive line prospect is ready for the all-star contest, which will take place at South River High School (Edgewater, MD) on December 30.

“I just want to go out there and have a good time. I think that’s what it’s all about,” Willenbrock said of the all-star game, which pits selected all-stars from Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware (the North team) against all-stars from Maryland and Virginia (the South team). “I think there are five future Hokies that are supposed to be there, and I think they are all on the South team. It’ll be good to get to know them over the weekend.”

Deon Clarke, Brenden Motley, Donovan Riley, Devin Vandyke and Nigel Williams are the other future Hokies designated to play in the Chesapeake Bowl. The weekend of December 10, Willenbrock enjoyed an opportunity to meet current Hokies while on his official visit.

“I guess it was my fifth time being down there. I definitely loved it,” Willenbrock said. Clover Hill (Midlothian, VA) athlete Joel Caleb and Highland Springs athlete Jerome Wright made official visits to Tech that weekend as well. “It’s cool because I really got the chance to see what student athlete life is like there. You have a host showing you around. I was paired up with David Wang. It was cool hanging out with him. It was awesome because I got to meet some more of the players, and they were real inviting and welcoming me to the family.”
