Ekanem Still Focused On Season

Senior defensive end Ken Ekanem and the Centreville Wildcats (Clifton, VA) still have some season left to play after defeating rival Westfield in the Division 6 Northern Region final. Once the season ends, the 6’3″, 245-pound prospect will then work on determining his college future. North Carolina, Notre Dame, Oregon, Pitt and Virginia Tech are the five finalists for Ekanem, who has not yet scheduled any official visits.

“I’m focusing on one thing at a time,” Ekanem said. “I’m going to enjoy this high school stage of my life while I can. I only go through it once. I’ll have plenty of time to make recruiting trips.”

Ekanem plans on taking all five officials before committing. He says he is not leaning to any one school at this point.

“I think it comes down to my visits and if I feel like I’m at home there,” Ekanem said. “I just want a good vibe being there. I just want to feel comfortable. When I go on my visits, obviously I’ll look at academics. You want a school with a good tutoring system because all players need to stay on track. I want to see how the position coaches are. I want to see how the defensive coaches are.”
