Checking In On Nigel Williams

Nigel Williams ‘ high school football career came to an end last weekend. Obviously, the Benedictine (Richmond, VA) star would prefer to be preparing for the VIS Division 1 semifinals, but he is pleased with what he accomplished in his four years and looks forward to what awaits him in Blacksburg.

“I think we did well as a team, but the record doesn’t show it,” said Williams, whose team finished with a 5-5 record. “I personally have no regrets this year. I improved a lot the past four years.”

This week is all about rest for the 6’3″, 260-pound senior, who started at tight end and defensive end for the Cadets.

“Right now I’m planning on taking one week off since the season ended last week,” Williams said, disclosing his plans for the immediate future. “I’ve been invited to the Chesapeake Bowl (on December 30), so I’m pretty sure I’ll be doing that. And then I’ll be getting my body ready and hitting the books.”
