Centreville (Clifton, VA) senior defensive end Ken Ekanem revealed last Saturday the five schools still alive for his signature come February 1 (Signing Day). They are: North Carolina, Notre Dame, Oregon, Pittsburgh and Virginia Tech. The 6’3″, 245-pound prospect will now take a little bit of a break on the recruiting front in order to focus on the rest of his senior season.
Centreville’s Wildcats are unbeaten through seven games, but a tough 3-game stretch remains to close out the regular season.
“I’m going to push [recruiting] back to the end of my season now,” Ekanem said. “I’m going to take five official visits after the season.”
Ekanem had hoped to visit Virginia Tech this fall for a game but wasn’t able to make it happen. He will now officially visit Blacksburg post season. As of yet, the 2010 Washington Post first-team all-metro selection has not scheduled any of the five officials.
