New Hampton PG Still Considering Hokies

Virginia Tech’s men’s basketball program remains in the running for New Hampton Prep (N.H.) guard Olivier Hanlan , who made an official visit to Blacksburg the weekend of September 17. The 6’3″, 190-pound senior enjoyed his experience at Tech, but he wants to explore more options before committing anywhere.

“I took one official visit. The next visit is at Boston College this weekend,” Hanlan said. “I wanted to get a few other visits in and compare schools. I might get another in after BC. Maybe two.”

If another visit does happen, Tennessee stands as the most likely destination. The Volunteers offered recently, joining the Eagles and the Hokies in this race. Kansas and Notre Dame are also being considered, though neither school has offered yet.

“I don’t really have a favorite right now,” Hanlan said. “Knowing my game, I think I can fit in at each of the programs I’m considering. Virginia Tech was a perfect first official, but I just want to compare other schools. I want to make sure I find the best fit.”
