Thomas Responds to Adversity With Near-Flawless Performance

Going into yesterday’s game with the Miami Hurricanes, no one expected a shoot out. The Tech offense had been struggling to score, while the Hokie defense was playing stout football. On Saturday, it was the other way around, as Logan Thomas led Virginia Tech to a dramatic win over “The U” in one of the best college football games you’ll ever see.

The was a game Virginia Tech completely controlled in the early stages. The Hokies led 14-0, and were driving for another score when Logan Thomas fumbled a shotgun snap that Miami recovered. If Thomas didn’t fumble that snap, and the Hokies had gone up by three scores, I’m not sure that game ever would have been particularly close, because the Canes would have been forced to give up on the running game.

Oh well. While a double digit win over Miami would have been nice, I feel a lot better knowing that Logan Thomas is fully capable of putting the team on his back and leading them to victory in a tight game.
