Hokies Score Big-Time RB Drew Harris

Virginia Tech’s already impressive 2012 class running back haul has just gotten better. Downingtown East (Exton, PA) senior tailback Drew Harris , rated a 4-star prospect by ESPN.com, Rivals.com, and Scout.com, verbally committed to the Hokies earlier this evening. He is Tech’s third running back commitment of the 2012 class, joining 4-star J.C. Coleman and 3-star Chris Mangus.

Downingtown East head coach Mike Matta, who now has two seniors bound for Virginia Tech, confirmed Harris’ decision.

“He did it [about two hours ago],” Matta said, referring to Harris’ pledge to the Tech coaches. Twenty-five high school seniors have now committed to the Hokies.

Coach Matta admits to being a bit surprised by the timing of Harris’ decision. He wasn’t, however, surprised by the choice.
