Sophomore tailback David Wilson and r-freshman nickelback Antone Exum will be suspended for the first quarter of the Orange Bowl because of curfew violations on Friday night.
Friday night’s curfew was set at 1am. Wilson and Exum were back at the team hotel at that point, but not in their rooms. Besides the first quarter suspension, both players will also have to forfeit part of their bowl stipend, and they will not be allowed to attend tonight’s Miami Heat-Golden State Warriors game.
The absence of Wilson for the first quarter means that r-senior cornerback Rashad Carmichael will likely take over his kickoff return duties. If r-sophomore tailback Ryan Williams can’t play because of his injured hamstring, then r-junior Darren Evans will have to shoulder the running load in the first quarter.
Without Antone Exum in the first quarter, Tech would use true freshman Kyle Fuller as the nickelback. Their only other option is to use their base defense for the entire quarter.
The Orange Bowl will kickoff at approximately 8:30pm on Monday night on ESPN.
