Green Takes Official To VT; WF Up Next

Looking for a low-post prospect to fill out its 2011 recruiting class, Virginia Tech hosted 6-9, 210-pound power forward Daniel Green on an official visit last weekend. The Grapevine, Texas, product connected well with the players and coaches and likes the potential for early playing time.

“I bonded with the guys,” Green said. “I liked the guys and I think they liked me. I liked the coaches. My parents seemed really happy about the things Coach Greenberg said. He told us that what you see is what you get. There is no playing around. You’ve got to be able to come in and go to work. They want to get to the next level, to do more than they did the last year.”

Green’s player-host throughout the weekend was sophomore point guard Erick Green. The Lone Star State standout reflected on his time with Green and the players, and gave his impression of the campus.

“I had a great time,” Green said. “We spent time over another player’s house. Erick told me pretty much what I needed to know. He told me that Virginia Tech is a good school. It’s a school where I can get better. I looked at the campus and it looked really good. It’s a pretty big place. It would be a good atmosphere for me.”
