Quick Take: Alford Talks First VT Game Experience

Nansemond River (Suffolk, VA) defensive end Dewayne Alford had never seen a regular season game in Blacksburg until September 18, when he watched Virginia Tech defeat East Carolina. The 6-2, 220-pound recruit, a senior who has accepted a grey-shirt opportunity with the Hokies, reflects on the experience and updates his senior season in this latest “Quick Take.”

On the gridiron, Alford racked up four sacks in the preseason before being sidelined due to an ankle injury. He missed two regular season games, but is now healthy, having played in each of Nansemond River’s (1-4) past three games. Alford has recorded two sacks so far this year.
