State’s #2 Prospect Talks Transfer, Recruiting

Last Friday night, Dominique Terrell showed why he is one of the most highly recruited prospects in the state of Virginia’s 2011 class. The 5-11, 175-pound senior rushed 35 times for 190 yards and completed five of six passes for 112 yards and two scores in leading Osbourn (Manassas, VA) to a 33-20 win over Mountain View (Stafford).

“He has 16-20 offers and the kid is special,” said Osbourn head coach Steve Schultze, whose team is now 3-0 on the year. “He is very quick at the point of attack. He throws a lot better than I thought he would. His game speed is so quick. He’s so elusive. Another thing I’m impressed with is that he delivers blows when he runs. Our offense calls for our quarterback to make some physical runs.”

More impressive to Schultze has been Terrell’s transition to Osbourn. Over the summer, the big-time prospect transferred from Osbourn Park High, where he spent his previous three years, to Osbourn after his family moved.

“I was really pleased with how he came in,” Schultze said. “He felt his way through things. He was quiet, just trying to be part of the team. Now, he’s starting to lead kids verbally.”
