Marshall Talks Defense, Early Enrollment

“It always helps to get quality reps against quality foes.” – Dinwiddie (VA) defensive end Corey Marshall .

The 6-1, 255-pound Marshall, ranked #5 in TSL’s Preseason In-State Top 40, and his Generals teammates have faced some quality competition this preseason in scrimmages against Ocean Lakes and Bethel. Dinwiddie’s star reflected on the team’s performance as well as his own thus far in preseason practice.

“As a unit, we’ve been great,” Marshall said. “Individually, there are some things I can clean up here and there. I’m still learning some plays and other things in this system. We’re more of an attack defense this season. It’s not as much feel. From that aspect, I just need to get comfortable with the new defense.”

Things are changing in 2010 as Dinwiddie will implement more of an attacking defense. The Virginia Tech-bound rising senior, who racked up 112 tackles with 21 sacks last season, is excited about it.
