VT’s Total Package Impressed Farrow

Cornerback prospect James Farrow admitted that Virginia Tech was “kind of my unofficial leader” prior to last Thursday’s visit to Blacksburg. Still, the 6-0, 170-pound Minnetonka (MN) standout didn’t plan on verbally committing to the Hokies while on the trip. That’s just what happened, though, and Virginia Tech scored commitment 11 in its 2011 recruiting class.

“I wasn’t planning on committing on the visit, but I’m confident in my decision. I felt comfortable there. I kind of went with my gut feeling,” Farrow said.

“I’m 100-percent committed. I feel great about it.”

Virginia Tech came through with an official offer for Farrow in July, joining other FBS programs such as Arkansas, Indiana, Michigan State, Minnesota and West Virginia. Tech’s winning tradition immediately stood out to the Minnesota rising senior.
