The Roanoke Times has reported that Nansemond River (Suffolk, VA) defensive end Dewayne Alford has given a verbal commitment to Virginia Tech. Alford is Tech’s eighth commitment for the 2011 recruiting class, the fourth from the state of Virginia.
Alford received offers from James Madison and Old Dominion. He is a greyshirt recruit for the Hokies, meaning he will sign in February of 2011 and enroll in January of 2012.
