Top CB Phelps Making Visits, Plans More

With 16 official scholarship offers in the fold, 3-year Damascus varsity football starter Brandon Phelps has become one of the most highly recruited rising seniors in the state of Maryland. Phelps, a 6-0, 170-pound cornerback/wide receiver, is enjoying the recruiting process and plans a busy spring and summer.

“It has been crazy. A little overwhelming,” Phelps said. “It’s actually kind of exciting, though, to visit all of these schools.”

Phelps has managed to visit four schools so far, including Duke, Maryland, Penn State and Virginia. He doesn’t want to stop there.

“For me, I want to get to as many schools that have offered me as I can,” said Phelps, who claims offers from the four schools he has visited as well as Boston College, Cincinnati, Connecticut, Illinois, Iowa, LSU, Michigan, Nebraska, Pittsburgh, Ohio State, Virginia Tech and West Virginia. His next visit is another trip to Penn State for its Blue/White game.
