6-4, 275-pound junior Mack Crowder earned all-Northeast Tennessee and all-conference honors this past season, helping Tennessee High School (Bristol, TN) to an undefeated regular season and an 11-1 overall record. College coaches have taken notice of the standout center/defensive tackle, who has earned five official FBS offers.
“College coaches really like how fired up I get whenever I’m playing,” said Crowder, a standout student athlete who carries a 3.9 GPA. “They like my attitude on the field. I don’t think I’ve ever been afraid of anything. They like that about me. They like my work ethic and how I come off the ball. Whoever gets me, they’ll get someone who is an asset to the team.”
Five schools have offered so far, but Crowder isn’t ready to name a favorite or favorites.
“I’m trying to keep the playing field even right now,” Crowder said. “I stay in touch with the offers I have, so I stay in touch with coaches from Vanderbilt, Georgia Tech, Virginia Tech, MTSU and Duke. I e-mail all of them and stay in touch with them. I’m continuing talking to Marshall and Maryland and other schools like that.”
