2010 Signing Day Ticker

National Letter of Intent (NLI) Signing Day is Wednesday, February 3rd, 2010, and throughout the day, TechSideline.com will post and update our annual Signing Day Ticker. The ticker shows all 2010 verbal commitments, and they are changed to signee status as their NLI comes in to Virginia Tech.

Recruits may start sending in their NLIs at 7:00 a.m. via FAX to the Virginia Tech football office. The process generally takes a few hours for the entire class to report. Last year, all NLIs were in by 11:15 a.m.

Throughout the day, BeamerBall.com and hokiesports.com will also have signing day tickers, and each of those sites is a good resource for profiles and information on recruits. But neither site can show unsigned players, due to NCAA recruiting rules, so following the ticker at TSL is a good way to see signed recruits and unsigned recruits.

Our signing day ticker includes the names of three players from the 2010 recruiting class who graduated high school early and enrolled at Tech in January: LB Chase Williams, QB Ricardo Young, and prep school player OL Laurence Gibson. DB Theron Norman, who originally signed with VT in 2009 but failed to qualify and prepped for a semester, is also listed as a Jan 2010 enrollee and a member of the 2010 class.

Not shown as January enrollees are 2009 signees and academic qualifiers Kory Gough (grayshirt) and Duan Perez-Means (delayed due to injury). Both Gough and Perez-Means are classified by TSL as 2009 recruits, although Virginia Tech may officially slot them in either the 2009 or 2010 class, depending upon numbers.

TSL will also update our Twitter feed as each NLI comes in. All the links you need are below.
