Tech Interested in Tidewater Pair

Green Run (Virginia Beach, VA) concluded its 2009 season with a 5-5 record. It was a disappointing season for head coach Shawn Wilson, who dealt with injuries to standout seniors Dejor Simmons (missed 5 games) and Jamal Wallace (missed 2 1/2 games). Green Run rallied to win four of its last five games, though, and coach Wilson is excited about the team’s prospects for next season.

“I think it’s setting up to be a good season next year,” Wilson said. “Some of our JV players will have to step up, but we had some players step up this year when other guys went down.”

Recruiting-wise, Green Run has at least one FBS level junior prospect. He is David Dean , a 6-2, 265-pound offensive guard/defensive tackle.

“David is highly recruited already,” said Wilson, who could have as many as three seniors sign letters of intent with FBS schools in February. “He has an offer from Louisville. He was all-region and all-Tidewater at offensive guard, but he’ll be a d-tackle on the next level.”
