Former Kempsville (Virginia Beach, VA) standout Trenton Hughes signed with the University of Maryland in February of 2007 and is now a red-shirt sophomore defensive back for the Terrapins. Travis Hughes , a 6-1, 215-pound running back/linebacker, has the opportunity to follow in his brother’s footsteps and play college football. Travis, a junior, starred at Kempsville this season and has earned two official FBS offers to date.

Maryland and N.C. State are Hughes’ two official offers. He’ll be in Blacksburg this weekend and hopes to return home with his third official offer.

“I’m going to Virginia Tech this weekend,” Hughes said. “I’ve been there for one of my brother’s football camps, but this will really be the first time I get to check it out and go in-depth with it.”

Hughes has visited Maryland, North Carolina and N.C. State and looks forward to this weekend’s trip to Tech.
