Top Junior DT Talks Tech Offer

Virginia Tech was one of the programs Warren Central (Indianapolis, IN) defensive tackle Kris Harley grew up following, so he was excited when he learned last Thursday that the Hokies were offering. He received the official letter from Tech on Monday.

“My coaches came to my house last Thursday. It was our defensive line coach, our head coach and [defensive coordinator Steve] Tutsie,” Harley said. “They came to my house and stood outside looking mad, like I had done something wrong. They asked what I did the night before. I said I was at home. I didn’t know what was going on. Then Coach Tutsie told me he got a call from the Tech coaches and that I was offered by Virginia Tech. I was like, ‘Oh God’. I was really happy.”

The 6-1, 265-pound junior, who now has two FBS offers (Iowa is the other), has been to Virginia Tech on several occasions, including for the July 11th camp this year and for a game last fall. He enjoyed both experiences.
