Atlantic (Delray Beach, FL) rebounded from a season opening loss to Pahokee, pulling away from Jupiter High School for a 34-14 win last Friday night. Virginia Tech quarterback recruit Mark Leal turned in a big game for the Eagles (1-1), amassing 268 yards passing and five touchdown passes.

“I was in my rhythm. I was in my zone and the offense was clicking,” said the 6-1, 185-pound senior signal caller. “That’s how I want to be every night. I try to go for 250-plus yards a game and have a high completion percentage. That’s what I expect out of myself every game.”

Completing only 11 passes in 26 attempts the previous week served as sufficient motivation.
