Top Junior CB Awaits Two Official Offers

It’s a big week for junior Demetrious Nicholson , who is currently basking in Bayside’s (Virginia Beach, VA) 21-17 opening game win over Green Run. Nicholson, like juniors all across the country, is checking his mailbox this week for official offer letters from FBS programs. The 5-11, 165-pound prospect expects at least two offers in the very near future.

“While I was at practice [yesterday], a coach from North Carolina called and said they are sending one scholarship to my house and one to the school,” said Nicholson, who earned a verbal offer from the UNC staff earlier in the summer. FBS coaches are not allowed to extend official offer letters until September of a prospect’s junior year. “Virginia Tech verbally offered me during the summer, so I’m also expecting something from them.”

One of the top defensive prospects in the state of Virginia’s 2011 class, Nicholson is viewed as a shut-down cornerback. He showed off his abilities this summer at camps at UNC and Virginia Tech, which is how he earned verbal offers from those two programs.

Nicholson certainly is happy to be a high-major FBS recruit.
