Martin Plans to Visit Finalists Once More

Roanoke Rapids (N.C.) defensive end Kareem Martin couldn’t settle on one school prior to the start of his senior season, so he has decided to visit each of his five finalists at least one more time. Roanoke Rapids head coach Russell Weinstein revealed Martin’s initial plans and discussed the 6-6, 240-pound prospect’s performance so far this season.

Clemson, Duke, Georgia Tech, North Carolina and Virginia Tech made Martin’s finalist list last month. Has anything changed?

“What I do know is the same five are still under consideration,” Weinstein reported. “He has not tipped his hand one bit to me. It’s amazing. He has kept things real close to the vest. He is planning on making a trip down to Georgia Tech when North Carolina plays there, so he’ll get to see both teams play then. He is going to a game at Clemson. I know he is going to go to Virginia Tech when they play Nebraska. I know that because I’m going to be taking him. He told me recently he will be going back to each school one more time. Whether the visits are official or unofficial, he wants to see each school again. I think the young man is still in the decision-making process.”

If Martin has a favorite or favorites in this race, he’s keeping it to himself.
