Roanoke Rapids (N.C.) star defensive end Kareem Martin narrowed his list of schools to five last week. While he doesn’t appear close to committing anywhere, one thing is for certain…he’ll play college football in the ACC. Clemson, Duke, Georgia Tech, North Carolina and Virginia Tech made the short list for the 6-6, 240-pound rising senior.

Martin discussed each of the five finalists and why they made the cut.

Clemson – “I’ve gotten to know my recruiter and my position coach pretty well. My position coach showed me around when I was down there. Clemson is a great school.”

Duke – “They’ve been recruiting me the longest, being the first to offer me. I’ve known the staff the longest and they are trying to put together a winning program. Duke is a great school academically.”
