East Ridge (Clermont, FL) rising junior guard Robert Brown feels he found the “perfect situation” in Virginia Tech, which is why he verbally committed to Seth Greenberg in mid-July. The 6-4, 178-pound prospect, ranked a 4-star prospect by Rivals.com, is Tech’s first commitment in the 2011 recruiting class.

“I liked Virginia Tech when I was younger,” Brown said. “After they offered, I thought it was the perfect situation for me. I feel right about it.”

Virginia Tech’s pursuit of the athletic guard began during East Ridge’s 2008/2009 varsity basketball season. Coach Greenberg and company would offer in June.
