Virginia Tech scored a top commitment last weekend in defensive end Zack McCray and was hoping to score another top defender this weekend, when 6-2, 195-pound Nick Dew visited Blacksburg. The Hokies didn’t get a commitment from the First Colonial (Virginia Beach, VA) star, but the weekend still proved to be a success.

“I didn’t commit, but the Hokies are still number one,” said Dew, who has also been offered by Arkansas, Kentucky, Maryland, Syracuse, Virginia and West Virginia, among others.

While Dew has yet to pull the trigger on a commitment, a decision may not be far off.

“For now I’m going to hold off and talk things over with my family,” Dew said. “I want to get everything done as soon as possible. The whole process is kind of overwhelming.
