Interest Increasing for Chase Williams

The son of longtime NFL coach Gregg Williams, Loudoun County (VA) standout Chase Williams has been around football his whole life, something that has contributed to the success he has enjoyed on the high school level. Loudoun County head coach Todd Hill calls Williams, a junior linebacker/tight end, the most intelligent player he has ever coached.

“One thing about Chase that is very evident from a coaching standpoint is his intelligence,” said Hill, who has coached high school football for 20 years. “He is like an additional coach out there. He gets that from his father. And, not only is he a great football player, but he is an even better young man. There are so many quality traits about him.”

In addition, Williams possesses a good combination of size, speed and strength.

“He is 6-3, 240 pounds,” Hill said. “He is running a 4.65 in the 40. He is benching 370 pounds. He squats the building…I’m not sure what he squats exactly, but he is extremely strong. He lives in the weight room. For a 17-year old boy, that is pretty impressive. He definitely has the size to play on either side of the ball in college. He works as hard on his speed training as he does in the weight room, so I think he’ll continue to get bigger, stronger and faster.”
