VT One of Five Offers for Ricardo Young

H.D. Woodson (Washington, D.C.) rising senior signal caller Ricardo Young has a pretty impressive ratio going on the recruiting trail. He has mailed his junior video to five schools and each of the five has responded with an official offer. The 6-1, 170-pound prospect certainly hopes for similar results as the recruiting process heads into spring.

Connecticut, Maryland, Syracuse, Virginia Tech and West Virginia have officially offered Young, who will send out tapes today to Cincinnati, Clemson, Miami, Oregon and Tennessee. The Virginia Tech offer came shortly after he made an unofficial visit to Blacksburg a few days prior to Tech’s Prospect Day on February 28th.

“When I went down there, they didn’t offer right away,” Young said. “I talked to Coach Beamer, Coach Sherman and I talked to Tyrod Taylor. About two days later, they called and said they were going to offer and then they sent the papers.”

On track to graduate in December, Young is hoping to make a commitment relatively early in his recruiting process. He has not ruled out the possibility of making official visits and if he does Virginia Tech will be one of the destinations.
