Deep Run Junior Boasts Early Offers

As former teammates Antone Exum (Virginia Tech), Jordan Love (Georgia) and Jake Snyder (UVa) signed last Wednesday, Deep Run (Glen Allen, VA) junior offensive tackle prospect Conner Davis was busy calling college assistant coaches. The recruiting process is really just beginning for the 6-5, 255-pound first-team all-district performer and he is off to a great start.

Boston College, Duke and West Virginia have sent written offers already, with Duke being the first about two weeks before National Signing Day. Virginia Tech primary recruiter Jim Cavanaugh recently mailed a letter congratulating Davis on the offer he will receive from the Hokies. And an offer from Virginia very likely will come this Saturday, when the Wildcats standout attends UVa’s junior day.

Davis is keeping an open mind heading into this recruiting process, although he admits Virginia and Virginia Tech are attractive in-state options.

“Virginia and Virginia Tech have always been high up there because they are in-state,” Davis said. “Both bring different things to the table. Now that my recruitment is starting, I’m going to put aside any favorites I had before and look at all my options.”
