Back in February, Virginia Tech became the first Division 1A program to extend an official scholarship offer to Deep Run (Glen Allen, VA) athlete Antone Exum . Ten months later, the 6-0, 210-pound senior rewarded Tech’s decision, pledging his commitment to head coach Frank Beamer and company.

Exum announced his decision earlier today, in a press conference at a local restaurant. He actually told the Tech coaches of his decision earlier in the week.

“I’d been contemplating on Penn State and Virginia Tech the whole time, but then I told the Tech coaches of my decision on Christmas Day,” Exum recalled. “I told the Penn State coaches two days later and announced today. It was good to get the decision over with. The recruiting process is really long and wears you out. I’m happy I made the decision and I feel I made the right decision.”
