Tech-UVA to Kickoff at Noon With Coastal Division on the Line

Next Saturday’s Virginia Tech-Virginia game will kickoff at noon and will be televised nationally by ESPN. For the second consecutive season, the Tech-UVA game will decide who represents the Coastal Division in the ACC Championship Game.

Last week at this time, the situations in both divisions were extremely muddled. This week, things are very clear. In the Coastal Division, if Virginia Tech defeats Virginia in Lane Stadium next Saturday, the Hokies will go to Tampa and play for the ACC Championship. If Virginia upsets VT, then Georgia Tech will win the Coastal Division because of their head-to-head win over Miami.

In the Atlantic Division, two teams remain alive. If Boston College defeats Maryland on Saturday, the Eagles will return to the ACC Championship Game for the second straight season. If the Terps knock off BC, they would finish in a 5-3 tie with Florida State. The Seminoles would get the nod for the ACC Championship Game over the Terps as a result of their 37-3 head-to-head win last night.

Following the result of the Virginia Tech-Virginia game, Hokie fans will be able to catch the Maryland-Boston College game at 3:30pm on ABC or ESPN2, depending on their location.
