As Varina (VA) heads into its regular season finale tomorrow night, star senior defensive tackle recruit DeAntre Rhodes continues to keep quiet on his recruitment. There has been at least one new development in this recruitment, as the 6-3, 280-pound prospect recently scored another Division 1A offer.

“The only change is that Tennessee offered him,” Varina head coach Stu Brown said. “He really wanted that one, but other than that he hasn’t said anything. Nothing has changed. The kid literally doesn’t talk about recruiting right now.”

Asked whether or not the coaching situation at Tennessee has an impact, Brown said, “The Fulmer situation just happened and I haven’t been able to talk to him about it.”

Boston College, Clemson, East Carolina, Maryland, Michigan, Purdue, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and Virginia Tech have offered Rhodes, but Coach Brown notes several schools in particular that are staying in the strongest contact.
