Virginia Tech has picked up its 15th commitment of the 2009 recruiting class this afternoon. Liberty (Bealeton, VA) offensive lineman Kory Gough is the latest recruit to commit to the Hokies, choosing Tech over offers from Arkansas, Army, East Carolina, James Madison and Marshall, among others. He had received interest from North Carolina, Penn State and Virginia.

Liberty head coach Tommy Buzzo told TechSideline.com that Gough committed to the Hokies earlier this afternoon

At 6-6, 262 pounds, Gough has impressed college coaches with his combination of size and athleticism. He has run the 40-yard dash in under five seconds and is also a standout wrestler. Gough picked up his first college offer this spring, when James Madison offered him, and saw his recruitment intensify throughout the spring and summer.

Primarily a defensive end last season as a junior, Gough started at left offensive tackle from the first game of his senior season. Coach Buzzo put together a highlight package and sent it out to potential college suitors, which included Virginia Tech. The Tech staff became very interested and brought Gough in for an unofficial visit for the Georgia Tech game.
