Victory Christian Stars Expected at Tech’s Camp

6-4, 220-pound defensive end Justin Foxx plans to attend Virginia Tech’s next camp, which will take place on July 12th. According to Victory Christian (Charlotte, N.C.) head coach Frank Crockett, the rising senior defensive end will not be the only Victory Christian standout in Blacksburg that day.

“Justin has got a sidekick he’s been hauling around with him on some trips recently,” Crockett said. “He is Curtis Porter and he is a top [2009 class] recruit. He is transferring in from West Charlotte. He is going to be playing the 3-technique for us and he is a defensive tackle in college. He is 6-2, 330 pounds, and he has been offered by Notre Dame, Michigan, Florida, Florida State and Miami. He left Clemson on Saturday and they are going to offer him as well. He is going to go with Justin to take a poke around Virginia Tech.

“Tehvyn Brantley is coming, too. He is one of our top wide receivers. He just flew back from California for a Nike camp. Michigan is hot on him. Oregon is, too. He has been offered by Buffalo and Central Michigan. He is 5-9, 170 pounds, and he runs a 4.4 in the 40.”

Virginia Tech has not offered Porter – in fact, Coach Crockett says the staff doesn’t even know he is coming – but it has offered Foxx. According to Crockett, the athletic defensive end has also been offered by Duke, Illinois, Iowa, Maryland, N.C. State, South Carolina, Vanderbilt, Virginia and West Virginia.
