Since this morning’s news and notes on the Furman game time, Virginia Tech
has officially announced the game time for five of their football games in 2008,
including the first three. The latest news is that the Georgia Tech game will
begin at 3:30 pm.
We already knew that the Thursday night tilts with Maryland and Miami will be
on ESPN at 7:30. We also knew that East Carolina will be at noon on ESPN, and
Furman will start at 1:30 with no TV. Tech announced today that the Georgia Tech
game on September 13 will be at 3:30 and it will be televised by either ESPN or
ABC.
The ACC also announced that the ACC Championship Game would be held at 1pm,
and it will be televised by ABC.
To recap in table format, here is what Tech’s 2008 football schedule looks
like so far.

The time and TV for the rest of Tech’s schedule will be set at a later date.
Television generally decides which games to air 12 days in advance, though
sometimes they exercise their six-day option.
The Hokies already have three guaranteed ESPN games, and one guaranteed ESPN
or ABC game. With other attractive games against UNC, Nebraska, BC, FSU and UVA,
look for Tech to be on TV the normal amount in 2008.
