According to Furman University’s official athletics site, the game between the Paladins and the Hokies will kickoff at 1:30pm on Saturday, September 6. It will be Virginia Tech’s home opener, the weekend after the season opener against East Carolina in Charlotte.
Thus far, Virginia Tech has not provided any official releases regarding game times. The times of the ECU and Furman games are still listed as TBA on HokieSports.com. However, with East Carolina announcing in a public release that the VT-ECU game is at noon, and Furman listing the time at 1:30 on their official schedule, it will only be a matter of time before we hear the word from Virginia Tech.
The Furman game will serve as Tech’s “White Out” game in 2008. The Hokies will be wearing all-white throwback uniforms. It will be the first time ever that Tech has worn all-white uniforms at home. See the link below for more information.
At this point, the kickoff time and television coverage of four Virginia Tech games are known. The ECU game will be at noon on ESPN, and the Furman game will be at 1:30 and will not be televised. The Thursday night games against Maryland and Miami are scheduled for 7:30pm on ESPN.
