Marlboro County (Bennettsville, S.C.) brothers Tariq and Tyrell Edwards attended Virginia Tech’s Spring Game on April 19th. Neither talented junior left Blacksburg with an offer, but the Tech staff did invite each to its June 7th camp for further evaluation.

Tyrell Edwards, a 6-4, 220-pound wide receiver/tight end prospect, confirmed their plans to attend Tech’s camp.

“I talked to Coach Wiles at the Spring Game,” Tariq said. “We’ll be visiting camp on June 7th. They want to see me work out at outside linebacker and defensive end. They said they have only 14 scholarships to offer this year. We’re going to go to camp and see what happens. They’ll be evaluating everyone.”

Tyrell said, “They want to evaluate me on June 7th. They know I’m versatile and they just want me to try out at different positions to figure out which position would be best for me. I think they see me more as a wide receiver/tight end, or maybe an outside linebacker.”
