Western Branch (Chesapeake, VA) cornerback/wide receiver Javanti Sparrow is in the midst of making some spring visits. This past Saturday, he made a trip to Charlottesville to visit the University of Virginia. He came away impressed by the experience, from which he left with an official scholarship offer.

“They are better than what I thought,” Sparrow said of UVa. “They were showing me a lot of interest when I got there. I talked to the head coach and he was showing me a lot of interest. He said they want me. I didn’t think they were that interested before. I saw some good stuff with their team and coaches. I’m really considering going there now.”

Was there anything in particular that impressed the 6-1, 185-pound junior?

“The best thing was the school in general,” Sparrow answered. “The academics and high rate of graduation are good.”
