Deep Run’s Snyder up to Two Offers

In terms of interest from Division 1A college football programs, recent weeks have been busy for Deep Run (Glen Allen, VA) junior Jake Snyder . Snyder, a 6-4, 235-pound defensive end prospect who has already received two Division 1A scholarship offers, says he is “excited to be in this position. It has been awesome having coaches come by to look at you.”

Virginia head coach Al Groh and Virginia Tech head coach Frank Beamer have each stopped by Deep Run High School. About two to three weeks ago, Notre Dame assistant coach Ron Powlus stopped by. A Syracuse coach has come by and Snyder expects a coach from Tennessee in as well.

Virginia was the first school to extend a scholarship offer, but another school followed suit last month.

“Virginia Tech has also offered me,” Snyder said. “Coach Cavanaugh and Coach Beamer came by the school. That was cool. We ran into each other. They told my coach that they saw my film and the coaching staff liked me. The coaches liked the way I could play on either side of the ball. I guess they think I could play [defensive end or tight end].”
