Brookville’s Thomas at Three Offers and Counting

Star junior Logan Thomas led Brookville (Lynchburg, VA) to a 9-4 overall record including a Division 3, Region III championship title in 2007. Thomas, the starting quarterback for the Bees, has drawn serious interest from Division 1A programs. He currently boasts three scholarship offers from ACC programs and is likely to receive more offers by the time his junior year comes to an end.

“UVa has offered, Virginia Tech has offered and Wake Forest has offered,” Brookville head coach Jeff Woody said. “A lot of other schools have shown interest. UNC, N.C. State, Maryland and Stanford have shown interest. For the most part, he and his family are doing a lot of the work on their own. We’ve created a highlight tape and his stepfather and his mom are sending it out to all of the schools. His stepfather is from Miami, so the Florida schools will be getting the highlight tape soon. In due time, other schools are going to start knocking on the door. The assistant coach from UVa even said that college coaches from everywhere will be coming by.”

Though Thomas is a starting signal caller in high school, he could end up playing another position once he reaches the next level. At quarterback, he racked up about 1,000 yards passing and 500 more rushing in his junior season. On defense, he led his team in tackles and picked off one pass.

“It sure helps that he is a good athlete,” Woody said. “A lot of other coaches, now I don’t want to say they are confused, but they think he can do so much out there. I personally think he is a quarterback. He has that pop when he throws the ball. He looks good when he does it. UVa likes him as an H-Back and would take the possibility of quarterback into consideration. I think Virginia Tech and Wake Forest like him as a wide receiver/H-back type. I think Logan might want to play receiver. He has the best hands I’ve ever seen. He can throw well. He has the height advantage to scan the field. I think he could do anything he wants to do.”
