When DeAntre Rhodes first arrived on the scene at Varina High School in 2005, he made the most of his opportunity to play on the varsity level. Two years later, the 6-3, 255-pound junior has established himself as a Division 1A prospect and is on the brink of landing his first official scholarship offer.

A seasoned player, Rhodes, who is three games into his junior season right now, has started at offensive guard since his freshman year.

“We were down on offensive linemen. With his size, we asked him to come on out and compete,” Varina offensive coordinator Blanda Wolfe said. “He came out, didn’t back down, earned a starting spot at offensive guard and has been playing there ever since.”
