Freeman Closing in on Final 10

As 6-6, 270-pound Pelion (S.C.) offensive lineman Dalton Freeman heads into what will be his first official visit this weekend, he still has yet to narrow his list of schools. Schools are jockeying for position in hopes of landing in Freeman’s top 10, which should come out in the next week or two.

“[Dalton] is getting close to announcing his top 10,” Pelion head coach Ben Freeman said. “He was talking to another reporter the other night and he said he would try to do it by the end of next week. I guess he is trying to get that into his mind. A lot of people are calling now. People are wondering whether he is in their top 8 or 10 and if now what they could do to get in there.”

Virginia and Virginia Tech remain under consideration and Coach Freeman believes that there is a good chance these two programs make his son’s final 10.

“I think both of them are probably in his top 10 or 12,” Freeman said. “I don’t think either one has been written off at all. He got to visit both this summer, so he has a good feel for both schools and both coaching staffs. He doesn’t feel the urgency to get up there to those places because of his experiences this summer.”
