There have been rumblings that 6-4, 210-pound safety/wide receiver Xavier Boyce may be close to making a commitment. We decided to go straight to the source for the latest, and the Landstown (Virginia Beach, VA) star provided an update on where he is in his decision making process.

“Right now, Virginia Tech would be where I would commit to if I committed right now,” said Boyce, who claims offers from Auburn, Clemson, Maryland, Northern Illinois, Rutgers and Virginia Tech, among others. “But I am going to wait until the season. I’m going to see if I get more offers and other opportunities.”

Unfortunately for the Hokies, he seems pretty solid in wanting to wait until the fall to commit. In what is good news for Tech, Boyce says he probably will check out some games in Blacksburg, mentioning the North Carolina, Florida State and Miami games as possibilities.

Boyce reflected on his last visit to Virginia Tech, which took place on July 14th.
