Of his experience at Virginia Tech on Saturday, Butler (Matthews, N.C.) standout defensive back Eddie Whitley said, “I loved it up there.” The visit truly seems to have made a big impression on the 6-1, 175-pound prospect and a college decision could be made by next month.

“Virginia Tech is one of my favorite schools,” Whitley said. “Them and N.C. State are high on my list. It’ll probably be between them two. I’ll probably move up my decision to next month.”

Whitley is impressed with Tech’s tradition and coaching staff.

“The defensive history they have is very prestigious,” Whitley said. “I like Coach Gray. He is the man. Coach Beamer is cool. Coach Sherman is nice. He made me feel like they were my family. We were all comfortable around each other.”
