J.B. Fitzgerald was only hoping for one scholarship offer by the end of his junior year. He certainly has attained that goal and much more, as the 6-3, 225-pound linebacker prospect is now up to 11 written scholarship offers after receiving two more yesterday.

“All of this is pleasantly unexpected,” said Fitzgerald, who stars at West Windsor Plainsboro South in Princeton Junction, New Jersey. “It’s great. I never in my wildest dreams expected it to be like this. I’m very lucky be in this position.”

Fitzgerald’s latest offers are from Northwestern and Syracuse, respectively. He has also been offered by Duke, Iowa, Maryland, Michigan, Rutgers, Stanford, Virginia, Virginia Tech and Wake Forest.

The unexpected attention is exciting, but Fitzgerald, who may narrow his list of schools following the May evaluation period, also acknowledges that all of the attention has caused him to reevaluate his decision making process.
